This workshop is organized on behalf of The Nordic Chapter of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM). The ISMRM Nordic Chapter is an organization of the Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish members of the ISMRM that carries out the functions of the ISMRM within the Nordic area. This two-day workshop follows from a previous ISMRM Nordic Chapter MRI Physics workshop in Lund, Sweden held on December 3-7, 2012.
The aim of the workshop is to focus on ‘hands on’ functional image analysis of perfusion MRI (including arterial spin labeling), diffusion MRI (including diffusion tensor imaging) and BOLD-fMRI (including resting state) for clinical evaluation of the central nervous system. After short introductions to the methodology behind these advanced imaging techniques (at a level for radiologists/radiographers), the presenters will go through the step-by-step analysis needed to estimate reliable and reproducible measures of perfusion, diffusion and brain-activation. Trial versions of various software applications will be made available for download and course attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops (MAC or PC). Attendees that are interested in analyzing their own data may bring anonymized sample datasets for guidance or troubleshooting.
We are happy to welcome you to this course in Oslo, Norway, where Nordic experts in the field will share their knowledge with you!
Physicians, radiographers, physicists, MRI nurses, trainees (M.Sc., Ph.D., postdoctoral fellows & clinical fellows) and other MRI experts who are working in the field of clinical neuro-MRI. A minimum of 6 months experience in applied MRI and/or neuro-imaging is advised.
